Environmental Impact Assessment

Your Energy is currently investigating an area approximately 2.5 miles east of Howden which has excellent potential as a wind farm site. The site could have up to 10 turbines, each up to 125m high, located on it over a life of 25 years.

The EIA is a rigorous, lengthy and comprehensive process drawing on different experts in the fields of Ecology, Landscape, Noise, Aviation, Archaeology, Transportation and Construction. These expert assessors evaluate the current environmental conditions at a proposed development, in this case Sixpenny Wood Wind Farm. They assess how the proposed wind farm will effect the environment, and whether any resultant changes in conditions are deemed acceptable or unacceptable. The assessors use “best practice guidelines” wherever such guidelines exist and call upon the numerous local, regional and central government policies on such matters.
