Your Energy was formed in 2001, we are committed to the advancement of renewable energy, with a focus on wind. Within our group we have access to over 30 experienced professionals including project managers, engineers, environmental scientists, lawyers, accountants, financiers and construction experts.

Development Timescale

Based on our experience at developing wind farms in the UK, the time scale could be broadly described as follows:

Year 1
Regional strategic site search; preliminary discussions with statutory consultees; preliminary ecological surveys

Year 2
Preliminary consultation with community; submit scoping report to the Council and begin Environmental Impact Assessment; submit monitoring mast application to councils; keep community updated with continued consultation

Year 3
Compile Environmental Statement and submit application; continued community consultation

Year 4
Council decision

Year 5
Construction; community communication channels stay open

Year 6
Operation; community communication channels stay open

Burton Wold Wind Farm

Burton Wold Wind Farm, near Burton Latimer is Northamptonshire's first wind farm. Consisting of 10 turbines, 100 metres tall, the wind farm became operational in March 2006. The development timeline for Burton Wold Wind Farm was as follows:

  • Planning application submitted Spring 2003
  • Planning Permission granted Spring 2004
  • Construction begins Summer 2005
  • Fully operational March 2006
